Regional Training Centers
Regional Training Centers – Preparing for times of emergency
Over the past four years, the Israel Trauma Coalition has established and maintained regional training centers for disaster preparedness throughout Israel in cooperation with the Home Front Command, the Department for the Development of the Negev and the Galil, the Department of Welfare and Social Services, the Department of Education, the National Emergency Authority, the Jewish Federation of New York, and other philanthropic partners.
The regional model provides a broad response to the need for the training of professionals and staff from various local authorities. Emergency and disaster preparedness training centers focus on four training areas: disaster preparedness training for local authorities, training in the realm of clinical care, disaster preparedness within the education system, and community and business resilience.
Work with any new local authority begins with a comprehensive mapping of the needs within the authority and in partnership with the local authority leaders, the needs for emergency preparedness are identified and a customized intervention program is developed addressing the unique characteristics of the authority and its current level of emergency readiness. At the same time, regional trainings are held meeting the particular needs of each region.
